I heard the word “security” again this morning. On the record; there is no such thing as security. Look around you. Read the business section, if you can find one. The federal government cannot even work in partnership with Wall Street to the benefit of all of the country. Now that would be security.
If you are in IT, quit thinking “security” and think compliance; PCI compliance, HIPAA compliance, ITIL compliance. Think about the big picture. Do your work within compliant structural constraints.
Security is all about cooperation and collaboration, fulfilling the basic human instinct to work together for survival. Violence is not security. And firewalls? Think compliance.
