About
People always ask me what it is that I do because, I don’t have a “computer store” and I am not the “local computer repair guy.” I use my knowledge and experience of strategic business computing gleaned from my career as an Information Technology Director and from the consulting work I’ve done with small business to work towards the goal of returning some performance and dependability to the computing tasks experienced by everyday business people. I also try to remove some of the mystery from computing and return some control to business people.
My consulting business Managed Computer Services revolves around positioning businesses to have access to their critical business applications on demand, any time, any place, on any computer by provisioning systems hardware and software components enabling businesses to reach specific operational goals and complete day to day tasks with computer, time and location independence.
Hardly a day goes by that I don’t brush up against a business using QuickBooks. I use it in my business and many of my clients and associates use it in their businesses. QuickBooks 99 will always be my favorite version, probably because it took me until 1999 to understand and benefit from QuickBooks.
I’ve come across software that is much worse and much better, but I still default to QuickBooks for the general robustness and depth of functionality, especially when combined with third party add on software. And, as I’ve heard so often, “you can always find a good employee or bookkeeper schooled in QuickBooks.”
Although I’m no accountant, I think of myself as somewhat of an expert in QuickBooks computer setup, software and hardware architecture, networking and operating systems related issues. Consequently, I frequently publish articles on QuickBooks architecture. You can subscribe to my feed to get my latest QuickBooks articles.
